As someone with low porosity hair, I struggled to find products that gave my curls the moisture they needed without weighing them down. After experiencing postpartum hair loss, dryness, shedding and frizz, I decided to create the lightweight, nourishing curl care I had been looking for.

SHIMAI was born from my own hair journey — and a desire to create something that truly works for curls like mine.
